Learning to Love Dementia
"To love a person is to learn the song in their heart, and sing it for them when they have forgotten." ~Arne Garborg

All About Me

Why Dementia In Detail
My name is Raegan Courtemanche, founder of Dementia In Detail, LLC, a doctor of occupational therapy, and a certified dementia practitioner. Dementia In Detail was created through love, passion, and a lack of resources available to caregivers in Colorado. This organization is HIPAA compliant and insured by USAA and Hartford.
I began my journey trying to understand dementia through interactions in a healthcare setting and out in the community. A dementia diagnosis does not come with a rule book, and after years of watching families and caregivers struggle, I created Dementia In Detail.
I grew up in Colorado, and decided to explore new (to me) parts of the country after graduating from high school. I moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 2015 and graduated from Grand Canyon University with my bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health Sciences in 2018. The intense Arizona heat led me back home to Colorado to begin my next chapter. I enrolled in Creighton University's hybrid program and graduated as a Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2022. I began working in a hospital setting and quickly learned to love and continue expanding my knowledge of dementia diagnoses.
I now enjoy hosting fieldwork students and share my newfound love of supporting families, facility employees, and the community with empathy and highlighting the amazing stories of each unique adult living with dementia.
